Pony Tales story time for preschoolers

A wonderful and unique bonding opportunity for parents or grandparents and children to spend the morning meeting a pony and then settling in for story-time.

Special time together plus an environment that encourages communication, develops awareness and stimulates fine and gross motor skills as well as builds excitement around reading!

At risk Children & youth (8 week program) - by referral

Equine Assisted Skills Development for At Risk Young People

Designed especially for young people at risk of becoming or have already become disengaged from formal education.

Benevolent program by referral only.

Objectives:

  • building relationships

  • emotional regulation & behavioural awareness

  • problem solving, negotiation & teamwork

  • self esteem, self advocacy, self regulation

  • reducing stress and anxiety

  • fine & gross motor skills

By interacting with horses, participants learn how to take empowered action, trying new behaviours and connecting with their own thoughts and feelings. Horses respond to the true self (sometimes participants don’t realise the self they are projecting) and work hard to push participants to a new level where they are attentive and present in the moment.

 

special needs schools program (8 week program)

Equine Assisted Life Skills Learning Program for Special Needs Students - particularly useful for students with autism, ADHD etc. Note students must be ambulant to participate. Schools only.

Age groups: 5-8, 9-12 and 13-16.

Individualised objectives are formulated for each student and developed each week.
